Templates make our work easier. Many of them have been professionally designed and all the user does is "fill in the blanks". An internet search will provide a wealth of templates. For your first email newsletter, choose a basic template that consists of one page with several sections and hyperlinks. Color combinations are important to be pleasing to the eye.
The graphics can be brighter and more plentiful because there are no printing costs. Follow the same procedures for creating a printed newsletter, with a few differences to keep in mind:
Write the articles with any word processor, then copy and paste the first paragraph of each into the newsletter, and then add a hyperlink. The link can lead to another place in the newsletter or to your web site. The next step is to copy and past the rest of the articles to either the bottom of the newsletter or to your web site. Before sending the newsletter to everyone, send it to yourself and check the links to make sure they work.
E-Newsletters are similar to web sites, the difference is that once the newsletter is created, just copy and paste it into an email message and send it off. You do not need to know much HTML coding.
